In the company of our friend and chief geologist Normand Goulet, visit of Charlevoix which is a directory of interesting geological and / or geomorphological sites to visit. The number of places is limited.

Information on the geological excursion in Charlevoix to see the remains of a huge meteorite impact
The geological excursion will begin around 9 am at Ile aux Coudres.
For those coming by plane, the coordinates of the Island's airport are: CTA3 47 ° 23′22 ″ N 070 ° 23′04 ″ W
On-site vehicle transportation will be available and provided by the APPH as well as by a volunteer.
Two vehicles will leave St-Jean for Île aux Coudres the day before (September 10 around 7 hrs) for those who prefer the road. We can take also luggage that is too heavy for single-engine aircraft ...
Rooms have been reserved at the Auberge du Capitaine at $ 250 for 2 people, dinner and breakfast included.
It is possible to camp at the airport (toilet available).
During the excursion, we will make stops (easily accessible) to see rocks impacted, along the St.Lawrence Estuary (Cap aux Oies, Cap à l'Aigle, Ste-Irénée), then direction Les Éboulements (see the central lift of the impact), St-Hilarion, we will finish at La Malbaie then return to the Island around 4 p.m.
